Safari Migration in the Serengeti in Africa

The great migrations of the Serengeti in Tanzania are a unique phenomena. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebras and antelopes make a year-long circle from the north to the south of the Serengeti. They are south of the park in Ndutu in January and then go up from March to arrive north at the border with Kenya in July. Then they go down again in October to arrive in the south at the end of December.

Many predators stand in their way: the real struggle for survival begins before the eyes of travelers, making this natural phenomenon an extraordinary, unforgettable moment to live during your visit to Tanzania.

This itinerary can be adjusted to your personnel needs and preferences.

Welcome at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to your hotel in the Arusha area.

Jour 3 – Tarangire

Departure to Tarangire National Park, which is part of the immense ecosystem of the Maasai Steppe. During the rainy season, large herds of herbivores are spread over more than 20,000 square kilometers, but as soon as the rain stops in June, they migrate to the last permanent water point in the region, the Tarangire River. Photo safari in the park where you can see herds of at least 100 elephants.

Picnic in the park.

Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
Overnight on the shores of Lake Manyara

Jour 4 – Manyara

Departure to Lake Manyara National Park, located between the cliffs of the Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. The fauna is particularly varied due to the great diversity of biotopes. The rainforest is the territory of one of the highest concentrations of monkeys in the world. Areas of more sparse forests and grasslands are home to traditional East African wildlife such as herds of buffalo, giraffes and elephants, among others. As for predators, you might find lions. The lake is a major bird sanctuary, home to more than 400 different species including large colonies of flamingos and storks.

Lunch in the village, local specialties in the banana plantation.

In the afternoon, a walking tour of the village market, artisans, plantations and banana beer factory.

Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
Overnight on the shores of Lake Manyara

Jour – Serengeti: Rivers Crossing (Season July-August-September)

Drive to Serengeti National Park, located in Northern Tanzania and stretching over 14,763 square kilometers. It is the second largest animal park in Africa; about four million animals, including more than 400 species of birds live here. It is best known for its two annual migrations of millions of wildebeest, zebras and Thomsons’ gazelles.

Picnic at the entrance of Serengeti and departure in the afternoon for your 4×4 safari.

Jour 4 – Serengeti

Departure in the morning to the northern region of the park at the border with Kenya, following the route of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebras and their predators. This stay in the largest national park in northern Tanzania will allow you to meet authentic Africa, an incredibly protected nature where giraffes, zebras, gazelles, elk, impalas and warthogs abound.

Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
Overnight in a tented camp at Mara Park

Jour 6 – Serengeti

Special 4×4 safari day during the Great Migration. The north of the park enjoys a higher level of rainfall than the south and east, so it maintains permanent water levels in lakes and rivers. This point becomes the gathering place of herds along the Mara River, the last obstacle to cross before joining the Maasai Mara. Another popular image: the river becomes a showplace for the crocodiles waiting for their prey.

Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
Overnight in a tented amp at Mara Park

Jour 5 – Serengeti

Jour – Serengeti: Births (Season January – February)

Departure in the morning to the border region of Ndutu, south of the Serengeti. The Ndutu region is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and extends to the south of the Serengeti. The great migration reaches here with its 2 million animals to give birth to their young. Many predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas are attracted by the birth of cubs and they roam the vast plains in search of prey.

Meals: Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
Overnight in a tented camp in Ndutu Park

Jour 10 – Ndutu
